Therapy for Perfectionism & People-Pleasing in Los Angeles, California
Virtual therapy to help ambitious adults in Los Angeles & California navigate perfectionism, people-pleasing and the constant pressure to keep performing
If you’ve found your way here, you likely hold yourself to incredibly high standards.
Maybe you’re constantly pushing yourself to do more, achieve more and stay productive because slowing down feels uncomfortable or even unsafe.
Or maybe the pressure to get things perfect has become so overwhelming that you feel stuck instead.
You overthink every move, struggle to make decisions, procrastinate because you’re scared of getting it wrong. No matter how hard you try, it never quite feels like what you’re doing is good enough, that you are not good enough.
You may also find yourself constantly trying to meet other people’s expectations, feeling unable to say no and prioritizing everyone else’s needs while your own continually get pushed to the back burner.
And underneath all of that internal and external pressure is often a deeper fear lingering below the surface: that if you stop performing at the highest level or stop putting everyone else first, you might no longer be worthy of approval, acceptance or even love.
DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?
⟡ You constantly raise the bar for yourself no matter how much you get done
⟡ You often become consumed by details, mistakes or the fear of failure
⟡ You tend to procrastinate because the pressure to do things perfectly feels overwhelming
⟡ You have a difficult time asking for help or let people see that you’re struggling
⟡ You say yes to things you don’t actually want because you don’t want to disappoint people
⟡ You prioritize everyone else’s needs while ignoring your own
⟡ You feel resentful, exhausted or emotionally drained from always trying to “keep it together”
IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE THAT WAY
Therapy in Los Angeles for perfectionism, people-pleasing & performance pressure can help!
You don’t have to keep living under the constant pressure of perfection, overthinking every move and feeling like your value only depends on what you can achieve or never saying no. If you’re tired of feeling stuck in these patterns and ready for things to actually change, therapy can help you understand what’s driving them and begin shifting them at the root. So you can move through life with more balance and freedom, without losing your ambition or drive.

ABOUT ME
Hi! I’m Justine Gordon, a therapist for perfectionists and people-pleasers in Los Angeles, California!
I work with ambitious adults who feel exhausted by the pressure they place on themselves and the constant feeling that they always need to do more, be more or get everything “right.”
Having grown up in a high-achieving environment myself, I understand how easily perfectionism, overthinking and people-pleasing can become normalized, productivity and success start to shape your sense of identity and self-worth.
Over time, both personally and in my work with clients, I came to understand that these patterns don’t simply disappear with more success or more effort. In order for things to truly shift, they need to be understood with compassion and worked through at the root. This is the work I now help my clients do in therapy.
Aside from perfectionism & people-pleasing, I also help clients navigate other patterns related to their ambition, such as burnout & chronic stress, imposter syndrome, high-pressure careers, anxiety & overthinking as well as relationship challenges and postpartum challenges.
