The Postpartum Support Circle for New Moms in Los Angeles & California

A therapist-led postpartum support group in California to help you create the emotional support village you deserve.

Our Postpartum Support Circle is a virtual therapy group for new moms who want somewhere to be honest about how they’re really doing, connect with other moms in this stage and begin creating the kind of support system that so many moms wish they had. Our hope is that you feel, even for a moment, what it’s like to not do mom life alone.

Hey Mom! Does any of this sound familiar?

You love your baby, but the reality of early parenthood is far more overwhelming than you expected.

Sleep deprivation is affecting everything: your mood, patience, confidence & coping.

You miss parts of your old life and identity and feel guilty for admitting it.

You feel isolated at home while everyone else seems to be thriving with a newborn.

You wish someone would talk honestly about how hard this transition can be.

As two therapists who are also moms with that same lived experience, let us just say: we’ve been there and we understand how difficult it is to feel like you navigate the postpartum period all by yourself!

That’s why we’ve created our online support group to help you learn practical postpartum mental health skills AND connect with other new moms across California who are going through the exact same thing.

Everything you need to know about our postpartum therapy group

  • Free intro sessions for all interested moms on June 24th at 11am PST

  • After that: Bi-monthly sessions held every other Thursday at 11am PST on Zoom

  • Small group with max. 6-8 moms

  • Cost: $75/session

  • Potential for occasional in-person meetings in LA (if people are interested)

WHAT TO EXPECT

What our sessions will look like

Each group session will be 60 minutes and held virtually in a consistent, supportive space. We keep the group intentionally small, typically 6 to 8 moms max, so everyone has the opportunity to feel seen, heard and connected (and not like you’re just another square on a screen).

Each session includes a gentle check in to help you arrive and settle in, guided conversation around common postpartum themes like sleep, identity shifts, anxiety, relationships, and feeding, space for open sharing and connection with other moms, and occasional therapist led insights and practical tools woven in naturally. There is also time for questions and reflection.

This is not a lecture style group, think less classroom, more exhale, connect, and feel a little more like yourself again. Groups are held at a consistent weekly time to create structure and safety, and we do our best to choose times that work for the majority when forming the group.

Justine Gordon, LMFT

My name is Justine Gordon and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Born and raised in California, I have always loved getting to know new people and place a high value on being open-minded and caring. My own experiences as a mom have deeply inspired me to want to help other mothers going through the same experiences I struggled with. I am passionate about creating a safe, kind, collaborative, and judgment-free space where moms can feel seen and understood,  learn more about themselves and find a renewed sense of physical and mental well-being.

Rachel Neporent, LCSW

My name is Rachel Neporent and I am a Licenced Clinical Social Worker (LSCW). I offer a trauma-informed, client-first, relational approach in my work with moms. My path to becoming a therapist was deeply personal, shaped by my own transformative experiences in my own therapy as well as my experiences as a mom. It's with that very particular kind of empathy that I approach my work with you as your therapist. I am committed to helping moms find paths to healing, self-care, self-worth, and a life more grounded in positive wellness

Frequently Asked Questions

Still have questions? Take a look at these common FAQs. If you’re feeling ready to join our group, go ahead and fill out the form below.

  • Our intention for the free session is to provide a gentle, low-pressure space where moms who are interested in joining our group can meet us and get a feel for the group without having to commit to the full series in advance.

During the session, we’ll give you a glimpse of what our regular Postpartum Support Circle sessions will look like. We’ll guide a simple check-in, share some practical postpartum mental health tools and offer space for connection with the other moms and share a bit about how the full Postpartum Support Circle works.

There’s no pressure to share or participate in any specific way unless you want to.

  • Not at all. The intro session is simply a chance to experience the space and see if it feels like the right fit for you. If it does, we’ll share how to join and the next steps. If not, that’s completely okay too.

  • So is everyone else, they just might not say it out loud. It’s completely normal. You are not expected to share right away, you can come, listen, and ease in at your own pace.

  • No pressure at all. You can absolutely just listen. Many moms start that way and find that over time, it feels easier to speak up when it feels right.

  • Yes, we are moms, we understand. If your baby needs you during the session, you are absolutely welcome to have them with you. Feeding, rocking, occasional chaos… all part of the experience. We want you to get the most of the group so we support however that works best for you!

  • We get it, life with a baby can be unpredictable. While we encourage consistency (it really helps the group feel more connected), missing a session is okay. Payment is required upfront for the full group, so missed sessions are not refundable… consider it motivation to log on even if you’re in sweats and holding a baby. We also do not record sessions in order to protect everyone’s confidentiality, but we are always here if questions come up between sessions.

  • It’s a bit of both. The group is therapist led and grounded in clinical knowledge, but it’s also a space for real conversation, shared experiences, and feeling less alone in what you’re going through. It is not a substitute for individual therapy, but it can be a really meaningful complement to it.

  • No problem at all. For some moms, working 1:1 instead of a group can feel more supportive and nourishing during the postpartum period. If that sounds like you, you can learn about me postpartum therapy services here.

  • Creating a space that feels safe and respectful is really important to us. At the start of the group, we go over clear guidelines around confidentiality and ask that everyone agrees to not share what others disclose outside of the group. While we can’t control what people do outside of it, we are very intentional about who joins and set a strong tone of care, respect, and privacy from the beginning. In our experience, when that foundation is in place, people show up with a lot of thoughtfulness toward one another.
